Ranch style houses are traditionally one-story with a low pitched gable roof, deep set eaves, and a horizontal, rambling layout (long, narrow, and low to the ground). Ranch style homes are asymmetrical and can be rectangular, L-shaped, or U-shaped in design.
Traditional Ranch homes have an emphasis on openness (few interior walls) and efficient use of space.
